The media must have nothing to do today, a Naval Commander's career is being ruined because the media is saying that he suggested that female sailors wear bikinis to boost recruitment.

What happened was:

The Daily Telegraph reports that Commander Tom Phillips from the HMAS Farncomb was asked by a men's magazine if "female sailors all had to be hot and had to wear bikinis, would that help recruitment?".
Commander Phillips is quoted as replying: "It would certainly get the right demographic of young men in. I'm not sure how feasible it is."

Now where did he actually suggest it?
He gave a neutral reply to a stupid question and of course young men 17-24 would love it. How is that suggesting it happen?

Might work for the RAAF but not sure about the Navy, a lot of our girls wouldn't look that good in bikini's. There is a theory in the Defence force that is called the three door theory. Recruiting has three doors decreasing in size, if a female candidate doesn't fit through the first door then they go to the Army, if they fit through the first but not the second then we get them in the Navy and if they fit through all three then they go to the RAAF.

Having seen a few female 'service personnel' maybe making them wear Hijabs would be a better idea.
