G'day
G'day to All,
been visiting this forum for a few years and gathered some great advice and information. Usually any google search on anything to do with building, renovating or tools will show heaps of results with this site.
Did 20 years in the RAAF, got out and built a house down here in Victoria. Bit of a horror story, builder shot through near the end, lots of dodgy work, insurance stuffed, and on and on. Long sad story full of mistakes on my behalf, hopefully I learned a thing or two.
Over the last five years I've been 'renovating' and/or repairing our new home. Slow and steady, but one day I'll get there.
Bought a few Triton bits and pieces 2nd hand through ebay and makes a useless fella like me almost handy. Not too good with my hands, I even have a high school report card from my year 8 wood work teacher suggesting I take up plastic model making! Cruel, but true. But I have a crack and figure worth having a go and making a mess and learning from my mistakes than getting bent over again.
Anyhow, thanks to all who contribute to this wonderful and informative site. Seems to be a good balance between experts, humour and pesky info seekers like myself. A comfortable atmosphere to ask questions without ridicule.
This weekend I'm going to try and track down a Triton dust collector and convert it to a cyclone. Sick of breathing in all that dust, makes me beer taste all funny at the end of the day.
Cheers
Dave

Hi Dave and welcome, made many a plastic model when I was a kid, actually if you can build one of those you should be able to do woodwork. Some of those things were downright tricky. Sorry your house has been a night mare, building a house should be an enjoyable process but you hear of these stories all to often. Enjoy the site.

Welcome to the forum. The Triton has been the starting point for many a woodworker.
Reality is no background music.
Cheers John
