French Polished bench
I have an old bench that has been french polished. I want to use it as the vanity in my bathroom and put two basins on top of it. Is there something I can paint on it to waterproof it? or any ideas what I can do so that it is ok in my bathroom. Thanks.

Single pack poly worked well in one case while not so well in a second.
Shellac on its own is compatible so make sure the surface is clean. If it's had silicone polish over it you might be out of luck, ditto for FP that contained gums.Cheers, Ern
