Repainting Cedar Window Frames - with what?
I initially painted our new cedar window frames with 2 coats of Intergrain DWD on top of their Dimension 4. It did not last and peeled off within 5 years on all sides of the house. I sanded the frames and repainted with a solid acrylic paint (2 coats) but after less than 5 years this too is peeling/flaking off. Water blasting seems to take most of the paint off easily. Is the cedar still exuding something to which the paint can’t stick? I am tearing my hair out! I don’t know what to paint the frames with next – does anyone have any ideas? :C
