hinge mortising
Hi there dudes!
Great to be a part of this forum
I am a relatively experienced carpenter that is just wondering.
Is there anyone out there that mortises the hinge recesses on the door frames prior to installing them? Cause I do and find it easyier and quicker. Why would you want to use the router vertically when you can use it on a bench?

G'day Coln and welcome along.
Interesting question and point you have made.
I thought everyone used pre-hung doors these days in new buildings-easier still.

Welcome Coln, sounds logical to me.

Hi Colncarpenter,
Is there any other way to mortice genuine good quality butt hinges in to frames. Half on the frame half on the door. I've heard of people using those flush fitting one side fits into the other jobs on furniture but I try to avoid the sites where such folk congregate.
