not a ww item but what is it?
my brother found this in our yard this arvo.
its a brass thingy with a lid that comes off.
there is a thing accross the opening.
there is sompthing solid in the botom not sure what.
the are initials on the bottom either an R or Y depending on how you look at it.

Looks very like a Wax Zesta container, or, as suggested, for sewing needles or similar.
Nice bit, anyhow.

I'd say it's an Helena Rubenstein lipstick case.

it has somthing solid in there about half way down.
it has a ribbed edge on it from what i can see down inside. it wont slide as the case is all dinted.

Didn't you say it had a serrated area??Vesta cases have them to be used as a striker.

there is a serater edge around teh thingy inside duno why thow.
it looks like a perice of kit someone would carry in ther saddle bag or similar.
this property belonged to my great uncle they ran dary cattle and lgged the place so i could have been lost whay back and only now resurfaced.

teh srrated bit is hard up against teh side of the box. and solid right accross.
