Hi,
I've got an Idea of what I want now with the extension, now I'm wondering where do I start? I haven't been to the bank as yet but have made a few phone calls to them, so I don't want to pay big money for some plans if it works out that the extension will cost more than I can borrow. How do I know if I what I want is either legal, possible and not out of the question?

Can someone please tell me the best way to estimate what the extension would cost without the plans (if that is possible at all) so I could have a pretty close amount I could ask the bank for.

Also, I just read a thread (The link) posted by Namtrak back in the start of "05" and he suggest that its better to use a draftsman using a cad program instead of an architect as it's a lot easier to change things as you go.... does anyone with experience agree with this?
