Problems with Open Slather- et al
Some time ago I started, for no known reason, having difficulty in opening the Forum. I asked Neil and he suggested trying Mozilla Firefox as my default internet browser. I did and it worked, but-- since then, whenever I try to open the Open Slather column, it refuses to recognise the password. I asked Neil and he said to check the password, which I did and is certainly correct. It still won't open and niether of us can figure out what is wrong.
Alao, when I open the forum, it used to recognise me at once, but now I have to log in every time. No big deal, but if I try to open a picture say, it wants me to log in again! Why should this be so?
Any ideas would be welcomed. Thanks, Dennis. The collecting of facts is not the gaining of wisdom, or even knowledge; knowing that the earth is round does not prevent our falling off the edge of it.

Just an outside guess.......do you have a box ticked in your preferences that says something like...."delete all cookies at log -off???

You are using the Password for the OS, not your usual password to log on. To prevent your cookies being wiped when you shut down the window, check that your settings are set till they expire.
To do this click on Tools from the top then Options, Privacy and where is says Cookies Keep until, that should be set to 'they expire' and check that your Always clear my Private data when I close Firefox box isn't ticked or that the Cookies box isn't ticked in settings if you do want it to clear your other data.
As for the picture thing, there are a few different URLs that the forum uses and you'll be logged in on one whereas the picture is hosted one of the other URLs which requires you to log on again, you need to tick the remember me box for each login and at the end of each session when you've finished, don't log off just close the window instead so that you're are automatically signed in next time you visitCheers

I had a somewhat similar problem a little while ago and DJ might remember it. He told me to untick everything in my properties from the tools/options in firefox and empty the cookies. and then reboot and reset the settings again and it has worked fine ever since.
Maybe DJ you might remember and tell him exactly what to clear and untick.Reality is no background music.

Bit fuzzy John but in your case I think I told you to Clear everything as in Private date, cookies and so on, shut down and then reboot and then to check that you had it set up not to clear cookies as this was part of your problem.
