Hi all,

I am planning on building a new deck for the back of my house. The back of the house sits on a concrete slab. The concrete slab sticks out 5 or so inches beyond the back of the house. I was planning on attaching a joist directly onto the concrete slab (parallel to back of house) but i have just realised the slab is not parallel to the house. it protrudes about 7 inches at one end and only 3 inches at the other end. Therefore if i attach a joist directly to the edge of the concrete slab, it won't be perfectly parallel to the house.

any suggestions on how i get my decking perfectly square with the house?

thanks,

matt
