bond beam... cutting hole for window?
Hey guys
im thinking of cutting a hole in my besser brick wall to put two narrow vertical windows in. The windows are as wide as One besserbrick...
I was unaware that i hmight have a bondbeam.
I was going to take out from three bricks off the ground up to ceiling and inserting a header like all the other windows in the house have.
If the top row has a bondbeam, is it best to cut through it and put a header in or is it okay to simply take all the bricks out below it leaving the bond beam row intact as a type of header?
or do i do something else entirely?
interested to know even if i dont have a bondbeam, for future reference.
thanks
