Stopping Traffic Noise Coming Thru Exhaust Fan
We live near a busy road and consequently there's a lot of traffic noise.
Have reduced some of it by re-glazing some of the windows and I've also installed Bradford Soundscreen in the ceiling. The bedrooms are now much quieter except the master one as it has an ensuite with an exhaust fan.
The fan currently exhausts to the ceiling space, so as you can imagine there is effectively a big hole in the ceiling allowing noise to enter. The roof is tiled and doesn't have any foil etc so once you're in the ceiling space its pretty noisey.
Been thinking about ducting the fan to the outside using some sort of insulated ducting (does such a thing exist for extracting moist air?), but there'd still be noise entering through that I'd imagine.
Any ideas on how the exhaust fan situation is managed in high noise environments (near airports maybe)?
