Unlicenced Electrical work
Evening all
I have been reading statements on another forum regarding legality of Diy people changing plugs on 240 volt equipment.
While I am reasonably sure that this activity is illegal in all states , I am looking for a reference where this is defined.
Is there a defining statement in the Australian Standards perhaps.
I an concerned that advice is being given that may cause unlicensed and unskilled persons to attempt their own electrical work with fatal results.
While I am aware some others such as plumbers have limited electrical licenses for purposes of disconnection and reconnection it does not extend to DIY handymen.
Could some one with an electrical background in this area, care to set me straight on this topic please ?
Grahame
