Bleedin Deck!
I am so sick of having to wait for my hardwood decks to stop bleeding before sealing them.
I use a lot of Merbau - which I know is one of the worse..but its a good stable timber and easy to work with.
I ask a timber merchant and they say change to Northern Box as it won't bleed....
Then I'm told by a rep from Flood Co. that Box will still bleed.......
The same rep told me that if I use Powerlift on new timber it will leech the tannins so I can seal it with SpaNDeck......told me to buy their product at Bristol Paints...
Went to the paint shop, the bloke says, Powerlift won't work- you have to let it bleed out naturally for several months before you seal.
I feel like a dog chasing its tail......
Is there a way around this waiting period?
