Dry Rot
Hi Guys
I have a small room (5.2 x 2.6 metres) with a cypress pine floor that I laid about 20 years ago. Recently I discovered what looks like "dry rot" in about 15% of the floorboards. There is enough space between the floorboards and the ground for me to crawl under the floor and there are vent in the brickwork. Whilst I was under the floor, I noted that the ground was not damp or wet. I also noticed what looked like little bits of white "fairy floss" in the underfloor area. These were not spider webs.
I don't have a problem replacing the damaged floorboards but I would like some suggestions as to how to treat the issue.
Also, the width (coverage) of the floorboards is 89/90 mm and the thickness is 19/20mm and I need to find a supplier in Sydney as these are "old" dimensions that are no longer made.
Thanks for any help you can provide.
Regards
Greg
