Hi All,
Could I put new plaster board directly on old plaster.My ceiling requires lots of work and putting new plaster on would be cheaper and neater.

I would consider pulling the old ceiling down,but the old ceiling plaster is attached to pine lining boards(which the ceiling was) and the pine lining attached to the joists.

The reason being is that after painting the ceiling I can slide a scraper under the paint and it peels of right back to the plaster.Pics attached.

Mmmm sorry guys just done a search and found out I can,though if anyone wants to confirm that would be good
