Problem with Tiling Around Door
I have just started fitting some villabord to my ensuite.
It reminded me of a problem I picked up previously, but now I must solve.. somehow.
The old wall I removed was standard 10mm plasterboard. I am replacing with 6mm villaboard and tiling with 8mm tiling. It means that once tiled, the tiles will sitck out from the door frame by about 10mm.
The attached images show the issue clearly. As can be seen, the villboard is flush with the door frame already. (4mm for packing to get the wall level + 6mm villaboard = 10mm that was once the old plasterboard).
What's the best solution? Replace the door frame? Add 10mm worth of timber to the door frame and stain & finish same? Add some tiling trim?
