Posting Pictures to Your Post
A How To On Posting Pictures To Your Posts
To post a picture from your computer, it is easier if you have your images resized first, down to say about 800 x 600 and around 100kb as it'll upload quicker otherwise the forum's server will resize it and it can take time if it's a huge file size
To upload it to your post you need to click on the Manage Attachments from the Additional Options located further down the page from your reply box, circled here in red
of which will bring up a small popup box from which you need to then select a file by clicking on Browse (circled in red pic below ) and locate the file you want, repeat for as many files you want to attach.
Once you have selected 1 to 10 files, you then need to click the upload button (circled in Blue in pic above )and wait till they have all loaded up, can take anywhere from 5 seconds to 60 seconds or more depending on your connection and server load.
After you've uploaded the files to the server you can also placed them anywhere you want in the post as well by placing the cursor where you want the picture and then click on the Paper Clip Icon at the top of the reply box and select the picture from the dropdown box that appears, which will then insert a BB code such as [ATTACH]XXXXX[/ATTACH] where the cursor was placed.
Alternatively if you have an image in a Photo Hosting site like Photobucket, Picassa etc. You can copy the image URL and insert the image into the message by clicking on located at the top of your reply box and inserting the URL into the pop-up box
Then hit Submit New Thread or Submit Reply.Last edited by DJ’s Timber; 25th June 2009 at 11:35 AM.

CutPine.jpeg:
The Dimension limits for this filetype are 800 x 600. We were unable to resize your file so you will need to do so manually and upload it again. Your file is currently 600 x 800.
What is the significant difference?

Have no idea on why you got that message John, it should upload, heck I upload this one which is sized at 599 x 799 last night, so I do know that you can post them.
Maybe try resizing it to 599 x 799 like I didCheers

The width (horizontal) limit is 800, the height (vertical) limit is 600.
So if you have a vertical or portrait format you need to resize to a vertical height of 600 and let the width take care of itself.

I have also had trouble posting pictures from a URL.
I am consistently getting messages like this one:
https://www.woodworkforums.com/attach...w-img_2706.jpg:
Upload failed due to failure writing temporary file.
I have no trouble with the other upload method however.
Cheers
