Lacquer over shellac?
Has anyone used more than one or two thin coats of shellac under a lacquer (pre-cat) without problems (ie adhesion)? I often use a thin coat of shellac under lacquer as a sealer on tricky woods but my current project is a Qld maple table top which I want to make yellow by using shellac (no stain can match it), but I think I will need three or four coats to achieve the effect I want. The lacquer is for protection.
