Well my tip is to wear gloves and be careful with your draw knife mine does not like me very much, I hate wearing gloves when I am peeling logs because I like to feel the wood so i can tell if I can get it a little bit better with my draw knife ,but it seems to take advantage of this fact I seem to not learn my lesson and keep sticking my thumb right on the blade as I pull on it ouch surgical steel hurts.

Maybe one day I will learn any way BE CAREFUL.
