Swappng timber
Hi,
Sorry about the previous post, started typing it in the title section so ran out of words. I wanted to say that I have a very nice piece of purple heart and I would be willing to trade it for blackwood or something similar suitable for constructing guitars. Since it is used for instrument making it has to be quarter sawn.
Thanks,
Ranko

Chippies in Ringwood had some in stock the some last I looked - about a year ago, but I've been buying odd lengths from them for several years now.
Also spotted some in Mitre-10 in Cowes, about 6 months ago, but that may've been ordered in for a customer as it was a job lot.
AFAICT, it's one of the more "exotic" - but still considered a "standard" - decking timbers and if not carried in stock, can be ordered.

Me too hope someone has surplus or offcuts. Don't chuck it on the fire
