finishing timber veneer
What is the best method and product for finishing oak and Jarrah veneer on particle board? I'm after a high shine finish.
I was thinking of using the shellawax cream but I'm worried that the heat from the mechanical buffing would cause the veneer to separate from the particle board. Please advise.

Don't do it!!!!
DON'T USE SHELLAWAX CREAM Keep it for your turned work or maybe small things like jewelery boxes etc. nothing big.

Option 2
After this post I read through other posts from way back.
The suggestion there was to use the hard shellac then use eee.
Just a couple of questions.
1. Will this have a high shine finish?
2. Is shellac easy to apply ie will it leave or lines where it is overlapped? (I've bought the hand bookand slowly reading it)
3. Will the hard shellac colour the timber?

I got a pretty good shine on Aus Red Cedar veneer with Feast Watson carnauba wax. The timber was sanded (dry) with 600 grit paper, then to seal before the wax, I applied just one coat of Danish Oil with 600 grit (wet). I used at least 3-4 coats of wax. You can get a slightly satin look by rubbing it in with steel wool.
I used the dark wax which gave a lovely rich colour to the cedar - this would probably work well on Jarrah but with Oak in the equation perhaps the natural wax would be better?

thanks
thanks for the advise, I think I'll use a combination of eee after sanding with 600 then a couple of layers of traditional wax.
