That used to be a regular meal for us in winter with dollops of HP sauce on.
We used to call it panackelty. !!!!!!
Bubble and squeak was spuds and cabbage mashed with loads of pepper and salt on.

Bubble and Squeak for us was all the leftover veggies mashed together and refried in a pan as patties the next morning at breakfast

The bubble & squeak that I knew was all the left over boiled veggies in a tray covered with mashed potato & mashed pumpkin & the backed in the oven to heat it up.

Bubble and Squeak, to me and the Kiddlettes;
was near any boiled Vegetables, left over.
They were then put in the Sandwich press, Browned off,
An EGG or 2 scrambled and dribbled over the Dry-Frying Veges,
when the egg was near cooked
Cheese - Matured - was grated over that.
That's how I got the Kids to eat Veges
Slowly reduced the Egg and Cheese
Eventually the kids would ask for excess veges to be cooked so that they would get B&SLast edited by Ivan in Oz; 5th January 2008 at 07:57 AM. Reason: Whoops, forgot the Crux of the reply
