rotten wood
i was walking around on an old wooden trusk body when i fell threw the floor and my knee landed on a peice of the chassis.
cut a hole in my knee 2" long and threw to the bone. a trip to the local doctor and 10 stiches later.
this has happend to me before only without the damage.
the moral of the story is look befor you leap. or step as it may be.

I would've thought the lesson would be "don't walk on rotten truck trays."
Sorry to say, I've done the same thing. It sucks, doesn't it? Especially the tetanus shot. I don't mind stitches, but I hate tetanus shots...

Remember a mate doin something similar a few years back... we'd found an old truck/car burial ground out the back of Carnarvon and began wandering around over and through them all... he found this wonderful REALLY SERIOUSLY OLD and very delaptidated truck with wooden almost everything!! and was walking around bent over checking what was through the rotten boards when... crack... down he went caught himself on the subframe... right between the legs!!! screamed bloody blue murder and couldnt move a muscle
Ended up racing back to the house to ring the ambos and find SOMETHING to get him out... back to him again with the 4x with the haib on the back we get back there and he had passed out so we threw the strap around him and slowly hoisted him out not realizing he had sorta attached himself to a stray length of some metal or other and woke him up again as we hoisted
Ended up loosin a gnut and had an almighty long slice from knee to almost his groin... talk about a friggin mess!!... ambos arrived some minutes later and we had staunched the flow pretty much they did some emergency stuff to him and whoooooooooosh he was gone got to the hospital and whooooooooosh he was gone to Perth with the RFDS.... actually ended up loosing the leg unfortunately but survived to tell the tale and learned the lesson
watch where you stick yer bloody great clods!!Believe me there IS life beyond marriage!!! Relax breathe and smile learn to laugh again from the heart so it reaches the eyes!!

Boy! Ding,
I hope you are not in charge of my rescue.
The outcome was worse than the original problem.
I guess thats why they train specialist rescue teams to assess the situation first,

Was in the north island of NZ last year and found this - at least when you fell through you may have had a softer landing. Hope all "repairs" happen soon and that you are on your feet again.
