    Default quick question

ok guys im building a rear verandah, patio well you know what i mean, ive used dresssed t-pine 150x 50,span is 3.1,11 metres across back of old victorian house, rafters and fascia same timber, now im up to gettin the posts in,its supported by 5 temp posts at the moment.
the question i have before i cut into my turned posts is about housing the corner posts out,the fall is 1/12 or 4deg,now i want to have the corner posts flush under the fascia,so ive got to house front and side of post, now the side is 4deg,but when i get to the front do i just make it a 4deg cut also,i was thinking if it is the the front fascia will end up with a small gap between it and the post if its sitting plumb, hope you guys understand this i know there is a simple answer but it doesnt look that easy to match straight cut across front of post leading into a 4deg cut on the side.

Presumably, you are doing a mitred joint where the fascia and rafter/barge board meet. You should, quite easily be able to do a straight square cut across the front to house the fasia, and a 4deg cut, starting at the back of the fascia (50mm?) in, and up. The rafter, because of the angle, will sit fractionally higher than the facia, but that is ok, because its only a small amount, shouldn't interfere with anything, and will be covered by the flashing.
    Hope that makes sense.
