Carbetec are a funny mob eh!
So the other week I went up there to score a couple of things and the most important was the dial measurer thingy so I can set up these tools properly... which they didnt have of course and had to wait on it arriving.
So no worries... a week later and a couple of calls later I get this lovely lady on the end of the phone "Hi Shane your package is sitting at the Preston post office I dont know why they havent delivered it yet but its at the post office" "Hi wheres Preston post office?" "Sorry I dont know Im in Western Australia" "So am I down near Bunbury" "oh hang on a minute please Shane"... tum te tum... "Shane?" "Yeah" "Sorry but I see whats happened its been transposed over east somehow" "ha yeah sounds about right for Aussie Post" "dont worry I will try to get it back and down to you" "no worries thanks"
(I know why the Preston Post Office didnt deliver it... do you?)
Now about then I was well on my way further south to Albany for a quick visit and so went out of range for a time during which she rang home and spoke with the missus "We will get it down to him hopefully next week"
So here I am halfway through that next week and still waiting
Funny but I really thought that my name and address was pretty clear on the paper work they have on me up in Perth along with the discussions and fact that Id waltzed in to the store after ringing and telling them I may be late since Im on the freeway coming up from Brunswick Junction in the southwest... seems either they addressed it wrong or Aussie Post made a monumental stuff up
Dont get me wrong I like everything about Carbetec... great company great service and great people... this struck me as weird as I thought they used a courier company instead of Aussie Post
Anyways it should be here with the arrival of the camel train from wherever Preston isthat is of course if it doesnt side track via Brizvagus or Darwin
would have been easier and quicker to have gotten them to give me a ring when it arrived and made the trip up to pick it up myself

If it is in Victoria, Preston is close to Brunswick - both suburbs of Melbourne. Doesn't help you much but it might explain part of the puzzle.

Hi Dingo,
Prestons is also a suburb in SW Sydney.
I regularly courier stuff for work and seldom if ever need to put on a postcode. But most of my stuff goes local. Maybe you need to specify the transport next time,

To add to the confusion
Maryborough Queensland
Maryborough Victoria
This is why we always insist that the state as well as the postcode is used. DAMHIK

Prestons is also a province on the south coast of China.
Let’s face it Shane. No one likes you, Timbecon doesn’t like you, Sherwood doesn’t like you, Carba-tec doesn’t like you and Aus Post doesn’t like you.
Better luck next time brother.Visit my website at www.myFineWoodWork.com

I don't like you either, Shane.
I had a customer in a past job who ordered some product from us. He was in Belmont, just outside Geelong.
Our logistics mob rang me the next day from Belmont, just outside Newcastle (NSW) to tell me that the street did not exist.
Two days later I got the same call from Belmont in QLD.
Three days after that they tried to deliver it to Newcastle again.
He finally got his laminate a week and a half after he ordered it. And it had been damaged.
Just kidding about not liking you Shane. You're orright.

There is also a Preston in Qld & another one in Tassie.
It could be Preston Beach, that is in WA.
I went to school with a kid called Preston, does that help?Cliff.
If you find a post of mine that is missing a pic that you'd like to see, let me know & I'll see if I can find a copy.

Preston is also a river that heads South out of Bunbury ... Shame Brunswick (WA) is EAST of Bunbury on the BRUNSWICK river .... maybe it floated UP the wrong river from Bunbury ... that's Bunbury WA not Bunbury SA

Good one fellas
Sabastian... The funny thing is THEY KNOW ME! At Carbetec in Perth they have this wee card with my details on it like name ADDRESS phone number etc and they are here in WA just like I am and I rang them from the freeway when I went up there the bloke had the card in his hand when I paid for and ordered the thing... the problem is they use Aussie Post... I havent seen the package YET so Ive no idea if they put the post code on it but Im assuming they did which means AP got it wrong but I could be wrong here and maybe they didnt put the PC on it? Doesnt matter!! Someone mucked up and Im STILL waiting!
Bob as I said Ive not seen it yet so maybe they left of the state and the pc??
Wongo... so everybody hates little ol me?well I dont care!! if they dont get something as simple as sending a parcel to a client right for whatever reason I say something
hopefully they will sort it and learn to do it right if its not their problem and APs then maybe they will consider using a more reliable courier there is a lot of difference with the other mobs carryon than this... Carbetec are still my favored woodworking store over here (little choice but what the hey
)
Rudd he was lucky it didnt come over to Belmont in WA
Wheelin Im contacting Carbetec to get them to do yet another trace on the thing this morning... I wont be waiting that long!!... worst comes to worst if its not here by next Tues they can drop the damned order and whenever it arrives they can keep it and I will pick one up when I head up there
Cliff no post office as such in Preston Beach... and its got Beach in its name this one apparently doesnt
Major... yep funny I got that too
Ramps please dont confuse the buggars any more than they already are otherwise it will head for Preston CHINA!!
Okay gotta make a phone callBelieve me there IS life beyond marriage!!! Relax breathe and smile learn to laugh again from the heart so it reaches the eyes!!
