If I want to add a quote to a post using only one or two lines of the original, how do I keep it highlighted?

Copy the bit you want, click in the reply window where you want to paste it, click the Quote button (the yellow word balloon) and then paste.
"I don't practice what I preach because I'm not the kind of person I'm preaching to."

Or click the "Quote" button next to the post you want to quote and just delete the part of the original post you don't want to quote.

This is also a good method to add text to people's posts that they may not have necessarily typed themselves. (although this practice is strictly frowned upon. )

I suspect that when one is fully grown, one's xxxxxx cease exploding, or at least the instances of explosion diminish somewhat.

    I hope that's the case.
