    Default waterproofing brickwalls

Can anyone recommend a product to seal and damp/water proof internal brickwalls before I fix metal furring channels (16mm) and attach 10mm plasterboard??.........this is a precaution only against possible damp walls in future even after we fix our dampcourse and cover external walls with membrane paint to prevent lateral damp.......walls are solid 230mm thick brick with no cavity

    thanks in advance

Plastic membrane, thick. You will probably get away with concrete plastic, maybe doubled (I've seen it used in a similar situation in a cellar.). Tack it to the wall occasionally with 18mm mickey pins (ramset). There are specific water proofing products (sheet plastics) for the job though. (Don't have a product name for you)
Some people recommend using a insulating substance in the cavity. the reason for this is that apparently, if moisture does penetrate, mould growth can be bad. Also, it would be a good idea to use green board (moisture resistant plasterboard).

Ya need to fix the problem from the outside of the wall or all you will do is trap the moisture in the wall.

Try this stuff, you can even paint it on the outside of the wall and it dries invisible.
