    Default America's Cup

Still awake and watching the Kiwis leading race 5 of the Louis Vuitton.

Great tacking duel on leg 3.

Hope they can go all the way.

That was just the Louis Vuitton..... now we got to get the Auld Mug back - then things can start to revert to normal. I think there is talk of making it a National race again. Anyway.... Relax Bob, cup will soon be back in NY where it belongs.

Yeah, having a big empty cupboard would cause violent angst I'm sure. Like not having something you badly need - something the rest of the world has but no 110v model! Having to wait months and endure taunts.... Ha Ha Ha Ha...... You just take it easy Bob. All things come....

I lost the video feed on the final leg but the Kiwis did it well.

Now, if they beat the 'Swiss Kiwis' , the Mug goes back to Auckland and I can plan a trip over there to watch it. Lovely.

There is some loose talk that if NZ wins, the next event could be spread around a bit - some of the races off Dubai etc... The sponsors want the event nearer the real world and in a sensible time zone though the sailors like the idea of racing in the Hauraki Gulf.

BTW they also beat the Oracle Kiwis, which pleased most people here .

    So far so good.

Can never be won, some years ago the Poms won a leg of the race and the yanks changed the rules, I still remember the headline 'Britannia rules the waves but America waives the rules'.

But America is out, and doesn't hold it anyway. Hasn't held it for years.

I still think Ben Lexan's original idea when Oz won the mug was the best

"Run a steamroller over it and call it the Aussie Plate."

What a race last night ! 3-2 to the Alinghi now.

The Kiwis blew the kite when leading on leg 2 and then stuffed up 2 more hoists!

It' was on Fox sports 3 and is live tonight at 11.30
