Default A couple of bedside cupboards

Just finished a couple of bedside cupboards all made of Tas oak three draws and a slide out shelf finished with a clear lacquer. The draws were joined with blind dove tails and dados for the draw bases and slid those in, biscuits for the rest. The fronts for the two sliding shelfs I used pocket holes to fix those. I couldn’t fine any suitable draw pulls for the shelfs so I made a couple from Tas oak I think they look ok at least they seem to work with it. I lack a bit of experience but I’m slowly getting there. Next is the bed that should be fun I haven’t worked it out the design yet probably an arched bed head and some raised panels? Tas oak for the rail and stiles and myrtle for the bed posts and panels?
I think I need a joiner for some of these jobs and a thicknessing planer at least that’s what I’m telling the SWMBO.

Very nice. Tassie Oak's a nice timber - almost as good as silky oak. I've had the making one on my list for some time now & was planning to make a start next week. Dunno whether I could manage something that flash though. I like the sliding shelf idea. Excellent work!

    Cheers,

Yes, very nice and I agree, the pull handles work very well with the design.
    Reality is no background music.

Very nice. Should look great next to the bed.

If he gets it without working for it; he's a parasite; and if he accumulates it after a life time of hard work, people call him a fool who never got anything out of life."
