Fastening steel track into bitumen
G'day.
Got myself one of those fancy automated sliding gates and hoping to start installing it this weekend. Have poured a concrete run for the track to sit on as the gate opens which I will fasten the track down with dynabolts. However the actual driveway that the gate crosses is asphalt. So the question to the forum is:
How would fastening the track directly to the asphalt go? The asphalt is about 35mm thick. If so, what fasteners would I use?
I suspect that you might tell me to cut the bitumen and replace a strip of concrete...

You got it!! Concrete strip. 200mm wide x 300mm deep.
Don't force it, use a bigger hammer.
Timber is what you use. Wood is what you burn.
