Unreg Vehicle Permits In NSW
Whats the procedure to get Unreg Vehicle Permits In NSW so I can drive a car home (to Vic)

Here is a link to an RTA application form it asks for a NSW drivers licence number so you might check with them.

I'm guessing you'll need one for in Victoria as well. (You probably know this already, but it doesn't hurt, in this litigious day and age etc etc..........)

Only need a permit from the origin state, it covers transit in Vic.

Thought of that, just take me number plates and sticker with me and use them.
MNaaa think I'll do it the right way.
The last time I used a permit I drove past 4 cop cars plus got one radar gun pointed at the front of me. Didn't get pulled up though.

I'm a few years out of date, but in NSW the 'permit' used to only be valid from the place where the vehicle was being 'repaired' to the nearest registry for inspection. Anything else required the vehicle be towed on a trailer.
You may get a better deal fron the Victorian side - even after the AAR's introduction, most states have added their own regulations on top, specially NSW.
