Thread: Administrator?

Administrator?
It would appear that the decisions made by the administrator of this forum are beyond question and never require any explanation. The members are total numb-nuts, who WILL accept any decision that administrator makes and are NEVER entitled to an explanation of that decision. Sorry mate, but that description is much closer to a dictator than an administrator.
Some little snippets:
"Good reasons? Well what are they?
Those who need to know already know and I am not going to justify myself to you. If you don't like it then as I said before you don't have to look at it. If you feel so strongly about it all then you can always take the other way out and leave. It's attitudes like yours that make this country so great - NOT!"
No need for justification to ANYONE? I'm thinking it is not I who has the attitude problem.
"Giving my reasons to you or anyone else in this thread would only come across as an excuse and I'm not going to make excuses for doing the right thing.... No matter what you or anyone else might think."
"No matter what you or anyone else might think". REALLY?
Now I know you will probably intercept this and not allow it to go to air. I can't stop you doing that. But if the admins of this forum ALL feel the same way as you, then you certainly won't miss me. Publish this and allow the NEEDED debate, if you have the spine, or cancel my membership.
I really don't care which. But I'll bet I know!

The bloke that owns the show sets the rules and that is his right. I don't have a problem with that.
Membership of this forum is a privelege, not a right.

There are a number of different Administrators on this board and each has a different personality and behaves differently.
Are you pointing at someone in particular or is this just a general flame.

You are mistaking this place for a democracy. It isn't. It is a benevolent dictatorship.
This is Neil's board, he lets us play here.

I dunno. I'm far from getting all bent out of shape over it, but I think the most important point that has been made in this debate is that if the girls start posting everything in 'their' forum, then it's going to detract from the 'non-gender' forums. How many male members (sorry!) are going to visit the women's forum? It's like the old "sum of the parts is greater than the whole" and if you're going to break it down into it's parts like that, the whole will suffer.
I guess it doesn't affect me, even though I'm a bit mystified as to why it's needed. To me pubs are much more interesting places since the Ladies' Lounges were converted into pool rooms or bistros.
Anyway, I gather from some of the comments made that there's some higher purpose being served, so we'll have to wait and see what it is.

The reason that most members would join a forum, is to impart or gain knowledge on subjects that interest them. When you join, you are adding to the data base and picking up snippets of information that is beneficial to you now, or may be of help in the future. I read every post and get much more information from off the cuff remarks in all facets of this forum.
The people who get so carried away that they "cut their nose off to spight their face" are really the losers.
Use the forum for what it was set up to do ........ share knowledge .... and let things be.

Eddie,
it's Neils sandpit and pretty much everyone here enjoys playing in it. Why do you come here if, as you say, we're all a bunch of numb nuts and the administrator is a dictator?
Go here and read my post, you may find it helpful (or maybe you won't).

Most forums have rules and standards.
Those that don't get overun by spammers and nut case and eventually shrivel up & die.
So the short answer is Neil makes the rules.
if you don't like it
