Philip Glass was one of the originators on 'minimalist' music, and his stype relies strongly on repetition...

Sorry Steve, goes back a lot further than that but not in so much the repetitious style, some composers used a continual single note drone which is attributed to the same style, Glass can and does use the same one bar repetition as what he describes as to create a hypnotic state to listeners of his 'music'.
Glass' repetition can run for hours and some of his compositions take days to perform.
Unfortunately it does not do it for me.Stupidity kills. Absolute stupidity kills absolutely.

One note mono tone, continual repitition...... sounds like hiphop to me.
Any thing with sharp teeth eats meat.
Most powertools have sharp teeth.
People are made of meat.
Abrasives can be just as dangerous as a blade.....and 10 times more painfull.
