Any ideas
I am starting to plan the design of a house that would sit on a block of land recentley purchased
I like the look of the house below(first image) but just with a basic skillon roof and not so much glass involved

or maybe something like this but the room at the end

Whats the view with the bedroom at the end design ?
The land has a 1-6 drop so I am trying to keep it as simple as possible
Cheers

If you were to do that kind of house it may be worth considering having all the glass and the correct orientation on the block to make use of the environmental benefits (passive solar heating).

Singly the most important thing about designing a house is the orientation with regard to climate.
Forget everything else.
The real trick is always getting the room locations so that the appropriate orientations work with the slope, views etc.
Have a read here: http://www.greenhouse.gov.au/yourhom...nical/fs11.htm for starters.
cheers,
