Rose Mahogany problem

I have a 20+ year old lounge made from rose mahogany (Not Rose Porteus) with a polyurethane finish. Some elements now have a gummy surface, which I understand is not uncommon with rose M. (maybe Rose P too). My questions are
1. what is the best way to remove this gunk, and
2. is there any way of preventing it happening again?

I guess I may have to remove the polyurethane to stop it happening again.

You could try our Polish Reviver . Sometimes it isn't whats beneath thats the problem but whats on top. You have nothing to lose by giving it a go and lots to gain. It could save you the rather large and unpleasant job of having to strip off all that polyurethane that won't want to come off without a fight.

Just a thought. It won't make it any worse that's for sure.

Thanks Neil - thought that might be the go to clean it up. Will give it a go.
