    Talking Relaying a T&G floor

    Hi all,

Spent a few weeks reading here, now here's my first post.

I have a couple of quick questions about relaying a T&G floor.

I'm planning on relaying a baltic pine floor with second hand 150 mm baltic.
I am wondering if I should use liquid nails along the joists before I nail down the boards ?
I'm not going to secret nail, as it isn't the style of the rest of the house.
so I'm wondering what size nails I should use?

    cheers
    Moray

Personally I reckon that's a great idea! Never thought of it meself of course when I did a floor a while back. I noticed that out builders used LN under all the decking timbers on our recent extension - hope I never have to pull the deck up! It was nailed down too, of course!

Come to think of it they used a hell of a lot of liquid nails - practically everywhere! Every time the nail gun went off there was a squish of glue coming out of a joint!

And I can;t see that it would hurt - might even help stop the boards bowing over time.
