Default Meteor (maybe a UFO) yesterday afternoon

I guess you heard about this on Australian news channels. I wasn't home but Pam told me there was one Hell of a noise as the thing went over our house on it's way North. Shook the place - much worse than a low-flying fighter (not that we got those anymore). It disintegrated above Hanmer Springs - about 80Kms up the road - observed by the local Policeman. No reports of aliens taken in for questioning. It didn't worry the sheep.

According to Babel Fish it says "Yes. Is the sticking effect steady or does separate the foil?"

    Makes sense to me.

So that's where my last turning landed. I really gotta remember to set the lathe to slow RPM before I start it up.

I suppose the blank vapourised on re-entry? Dang it, I lose more wood that way...
I may be weird, but I'm saving up to become eccentric.

    Yeap, you nailed it.

Very long old story going back some years on this forum.

One day, when all the paint is dry & the grass has grown as much as it can in one day, do a search on foil, foilie & include Al.
    Cliff.
If you find a post of mine that is missing a pic that you'd like to see, let me know & I'll see if I can find a copy.
