Default metal, slide thru drawer slides

    Hi all,

I have a drawer in a kitchen cabinet that needs to be opened from both sides. I would rather use metal self closing slides but the ones I have seen will not allow the opposite drawer face to slide thru the cabinet. The idea of putting a drawer inside a drawer has also been a thaught, then only one face will have to pull thru.

    Is there a slide available?

Has anyone done anything like this with metal runners.

Lee Valley in Canada sell them. I suspect they are 'Made in Taiwan' for Lee Valley as I couldn't find a brand or model number on the ones I bought, so they are probably nor available from Hettich or Hafele.

Gday Stringy, not sure about the hardware used for the slides, but I remember seeing a coffee table plan that used a rare earth magnet set into the framework & a washer screwed onto the draw side or bottom as a means to "centre" the drawer when closed.

Maybe Woodsmith mag, but only guessing.

Just googled, link here, looks like the Accuride 2002 is what you need, not sure if they're available in Oz or if Hafele or Hettich have similar.

    Cheers..................Sean

I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones.

Thanks again bsrlee, scooter and matrix for your assistance.

I have just e-mailed Haffele for details of their "anceps" drawer runners. These look as if they will do the job.

    Default Job complete

It's taken a while but this drawer is complete, used Haffele "anceps" drawer runner. It did cost as much as I have spent on timber to build the kitchen though.
