Personally I dont think it was the Italian teams fault nor our boys fault we lost... it was the pathetic bloody referees fault!! Now a lot of what passes for fouls in a game are often pretence thats a given the idea being to foul out as many of the other team as possible and therefore gaining free possession advantage...
That said the bloody ref called the Aussie for tripping and gave the free to Italy when the Aussie was a) already on the ground b) and of particular note the damned Italian player fell over him... he wasnt tripped he fell over... this means he should not have got the free and therefore Italy would not have won
However... lucky Italy well done... must be hard to win 10 men on the field with a ref in your back pocket eh? but well done
The main problem I see is that particular bloody ref has been involved in other serious disputes over these games... he has given fouls when there were none give yellow cards for infringements that didnt happen and generally been very VERY bloody biased in his play... he needs to be kicked off the FIFA refs numbers
For my money... I reckon Guss should if he isnt already and anyone else involved at the highest levels should be complaining appealing and fighting this decision and result... the ref off and...
Play the game again!!!Believe me there IS life beyond marriage!!! Relax breathe and smile learn to laugh again from the heart so it reaches the eyes!!

FIFA want every nation in the world to play the 'beautiful game', but IMO the biggest drawback of the game is the diving and rolling on the ground like you've been shot. I also think it is the biggest thing keeping spectators away from the game in Australia.
FIFA made positive steps in the last World Cup and started yellow carding players for diving. This World Cup has gone full circle and refs are being fooled by the antics of the so called best players in the world.
Not only was that not a penalty, it should have been a free kick for Aus, as there was no need for the Italian to make contact with Neill. He could have easily stepped around him, but by that stage his avenue to goal was cut off. So he took the typical Italian option of staging for a penalty. The fact that the ref fell for it is an absolute disgrace.

The old dollar
The effort by our team was superb, you dont suppose there could be a lot of lira to be had by that decision. It was too bloody silly for words and dissapointing for us, done by the whistle again:mad:

The team played well, went to sleep a few times but managed to recover.
I also feelthe loss of two of our best player did not assist matters
The big pity out of all the matches so far (all matches) is the standard of refereeing from the so called FIFA referees.
I fell that some of our local junior referees would have done a much better go off it.
I can speak of experience as Mark Shields and my son Son of Sam) were top junior referees some years ago. Mark actually billeted at our place when he was junior referee for Queensland
Enough of the dummy spit, I wish the Italian team all the best in their future games
I am very proup of the way our boys played and copped it on the chin.
The experience for the boys will have been great and I look forward in four years to see them going much further

I told yer!
4 weeks ago I posted my views that these matches and the results are dependant on match officals handling of the game.
Players 50%.
Results settled in the last 5 minutes of a match by officials, many many times.woody U.K.

Watching the games being played at this WC I cannot help but suspect that the refs were given a briefing at a Hitler Kamp. Most of them run around like little Hitlers waving silly little coloured cards and blowing the whistle at every turn. My 2c worth.

Who Cares
All the Aussies could do was kick it straight to there keeper
They were out classed on all fronts, apart from the
whine that all loosers make
they sook just as much as an AFL team loosing the GF100% of all non-smokers die
