Default European photographs taken by jow104

I will try and post different photographs each day of our European tour as long as an interest remains.

An Alpine scene taken Nr. Leinz, S. Austria.

You can't just put up pictures of postcards and claim them as your own you know...

    Beautiful picture.

Wish I was there myself, if only to get out of this madhouse for a while.

Some pictures taken whilst in Poland, the housing stock consisted of many aged rundown properties, and some well cared for country homes and many recent appartment blocks built over the last 50 years.

A close up of above picture.

A more cared for Polish home in a rural setting.

    A Polish pastoral scene.

Looks similar to the Czech Republic. I am currently doing a project here and spend a fair bit of time between Prague ( wonderful city) Ostrava and Vienna (also wonderful). Might be an idea to create a " Hello from O/S"

Yes you are correct in your observation the pastoral scene was only a few miles from the Czech border. Unfortunately I went down with a heavy cold for a few days at this time and photographs were not taken of the Czech, Vienna, Hungary portion of the tour. However I had recovered by the time I re entered Austria.

A typical Austrian small town street scene.

The Austrian alps at around 9000 ft. in May.

It seems that the Austrians are still anal about keeping the streets clean - almost as fanatical about this as the Swiss

Their gardens were the same, we saw them being worked at 6 am.

I think it might have something to do with their weather, they are so keen to resume household and outdoor activities after 6 months of snow cover. I was told that the roads are cleared within hours after heavy falls.

The temps. here in the UK have started to rise this week, over 80f. in the workshop yesterday, so got out the art brushes and did some painting in the shade.

However a couple more picturesque scenes in Austria.

Going up towards the Groslockner Pass (to about 8000 ft.)

The other side of the pass, Zell am See, Austria.

Good renditions John - now all that last one of the Matrei pass needs is the depiction of a silver 300SLR at full chat included...
