    Angry Printscreen button issues!!!!!aaargh

    Hi all,
need some help from the computer experts, or maybe anyone that know's more than I .

Have been dredging the net for info on what I am doing wrong, as to why I cannot take screen capture's of a web page using the Prt Scr button.

I have managed to open the Clipboard viewer so I can see whats in it. When I right-click on an image or text, or what ever, and click copy, it shows up in the clipboard viewer. But when I press Prt Scr, nothing shows up!  pleeease....little help?

I hope......I am doing something very stoopid......

when you have the screen you want, press ALT and PrintScreen together. That puts it in the computer memory.

Go to the standard Microsoft Paint program (under start / all programs / accessories in XP) and go to Edit, then hit paste.

You can then save it as a jpg file.
If at first you don't succeed, give something else a go. Life is far too short to waste time trying.

So long as it's not a "Flash" (or similar) image, generally a right click and select "save image as" or whichever option suits, and Bob's your whatsit.

Haven't figured a way to capture Flash images though - apart from Alt_PrtScrn.

    Cheers!

Thanks guys, but have already tried that(and did it again, following your instructions Gumby).
It's as though my PrtScr button doesnt work. Right clicking and copying an image, then paste it in M.Paint work's, but not the friggin PrtScr button.........zzzzzzztt...

maybe try CtRl and Print screen, see if that works. Otherwise, get another keyboard to try. That way you know if it's the keyboard but i'd be surprised if it was. It's not as if that key gets much use.

You should be able to capture the screen with Shift & 'print screen' & then use EDIT & Paste Special, Bitmap into any MS product.

Matrix, in a lot of cases getting printscreen to work depends on the keyboard, some of the newer keyboards need different buttons pressed to get it to work.

On my Keyboard I need to press a function button, is the word printscreen in a different color, does its color match and other keys?

worst case hunt around for a third party screen capture program, it'll do a better job and in most cases you can customise the keys used to activate it.

My method is similar and worked

    1. open MS Word blank doc
    2. Open the webpage or whatever you are taking an image of
    3. Hit Print Screen button
    4. CTRL C (to copy)
    5. Maximise the MS Word window, select the location in the document and
    6. CTRL V to paste
