Default Mk3 saw mount chassis bent help?

    Hey guys,

Recently purchased a mk3 off marketplace and am getting it all set up (had to buy a guard from eBay) and when beginning to install it I noticed the cast Aluminium chassis is bent the saw is a old as the hills Makita so with all that weight for 20+ years I'm not surprised.. can this be fixed/mitagated or just deal and get good at adjust the saw each time I want to use it..

Thanks heaps in advance and Merry Christmas

The older cast zinc chassis is malleable to a certain degree; you should be able to straighten it back out again. Worst case if it does snap then they're not too hard to pick up; I have one sitting in my shed gathering dust.

there is probably close to 5mm of deflection in the middle..

I did have the thought of hearing it up and then screwing it down to a straight surface while hot.. just can't remember if I quench it fast or let it cool slow.. old man was a boilermaker/welder most of his life so I'm sure he'll have some ideas..

Chris from Triton act mentioned a stamped/formed steel one?? This was the next revision from what I have??
