    Default Sliding Door Advice

I need a sliding door frame that will hold up to sideways load from people brushing up against it.

I have found two basic types. Aluminium or hardwood framed.

The aluminium version will be sourced from CS Cavity Sliders at $550 per frame
The hardwood version will be sourced from Corinthian Doors at $250 per frame

I have previously fitted a CS cavity slider and like the strength, but I have to fit three sliders into the renovation and $1650 is a lot of money for cavity sliders.

What are peoples thoughts? Especially the sideways load issue?

is it a pocket door, ie door goes into wall, if so just get the heavy duty one from corthian doors and put a bottom guide on it.

CS are great products but over priced, there is a guy up in gosford who also makes silders he heaps cheaper than CS.

Yep, they are all pocket sliders. Any more info on this Gosford bloke or any other manufacturers?

Oh and just to make life more difficult, SHMBO does not want closing jambs on any of the doors!

is a closing jamb two bits of timber that forms a channel into which the door's leading wedge closes?
