Calling Plumbers: Gas and Sewer - same trench?
All,
I need to run a sewer gully for the backwash of the filter. I also need to run the gas line for the heater.
Can I run the gas line and the sewer in the same trench?
Cheers
Geoff.

I'm in Adelaide and things are different here, but I cant see any problems if you keep the two seperated enough for future maintenance

I know that when I helped my BIL run gas water and power for his granny flat we were told to put the gas down first then power then the water each seperated by about 200mm of crusher dust. The council advisor told him that way if you accidently dig over the trench at least you will hit the water first and not the gas or power lines.
Have a nice day - Cheers
