Iveco dash gauges not working
My dad who has dementia and is in a nursing home has a 2004 Iveco Daily camper/motor home that has been sitting in his garage for the last 3-5 years. I have fixed some faults but I now have one last one to go. The dash that lights up for the engine check etc but the fuel gauge, odometer, temperature gauge, mileage readout, and tachometer don’t respond. I’ve checked every fuse on the fuse panel inside the cab and checked for any obvious stuff under the bonnet. I’m out of options right now but someone here might have some idea what might be the problem. So any suggestions before I take it to an auto electrician please?
Power corrupts, absolute power means we can run a hell of alot of power tools

It may be just a loose connection too the clock set, if your able either remove the clock set, or see if you can see up under the dash an have a look,it will probably be a large pin plug.
Cheers Matt.

If there are multiple items not working then it could also be the earth connection that has broken. Look for black wires that join together and terminate to a point somewhere on the metal of the cab.
Nothing succeeds like a budgie without a beak.

A Google search looks to indicate that dash instrument failure is relatively common.
The warning lights are a pretty simple on off device controlled from the relevant computer, where as instruments are driven by onboard electronics on the instrument cluster by the digital signal from the computers.
Common problems are bad earths and poor connection as listed above, looking deeper to the actual instrument cluster circuit board visual inspection should look for dry solder joints and leaking or bulging electrolytic capacitors as well as contamination or discolouring of the circuit board.
Only you can assess your skill level on how deep you go, if you have access to another vehicle of the Sam model plug and play swap of the cluster is the quickest option.
