things to ponder over Christmas...
so why, when many our age start having receding hairlines and increasing girth, what the hell causes hair to grow in our ears and up the nostrils.
Over the years Ive picked my nose enough to remove anything remotely resembling compost and would allow anything to grow, yet these bloody lil things keep coming back.
Its hard when the grandies keep asking why.
But rest assured I will not travel the path of laser burning
and then the damn ears WHY.I would love to grow my own food, but I can not find bacon seeds

I think it is like pruning a fruit tree. When the unwanted branches are lopped off all of the nutrients are directed towards the remaining limbs resulting in more vigorous growth. Now I'm not saying that the hairs lost in the receding hairline are necessarily unwanted but when they disappear there is certainly more vigorous growth in nostril and ear hair. May also explain why our ears and puddin' guts get bigger the more we age, after all, those nutrients that would have gone into head hair growth have to go somewhere useful. Just watch how fast those nose and ear hairs (and puddin' guts) grow over christmas with all the extra tucker.
I use clippers without a comb for my weekly baldy haircuts. If I angle the clipper blades just right I can get the edge of the blades into my ears and partway into my nose and cut the little suckers off.

SWMBO maintains that men do not lose their hair: It just re-locates!

Nose hair combined with the mucus that's naturally up there would probably make for a decent large particulate filter
