Default The Boxing Day Test 2005

As the WACA test thread has degenerated to an appalling level, I thought we really should get the official Boxing Day Test thread up and running.... early....before the headaches set in.

It's going to be a biggie for Ricky, Matt, and Andy so we'd better all get some sleep between now and then.

    cheers,

    P

So that this thread doesn't degenerate, perhaps we can draw up a list of people to complain about first so that people can choose sides early

Ponting - of course, unless Gumby has seen the light at last (so I can change sides and argue the other way for a change )

Hayden - the fool will probably spoil it all by hitting a double ton before lunch

Warney - apparently he's found his mobile phone and is able to contact all his friends again

Is Billy Bowden umping? Not sure whether I'd like him too or not. He's very grump worthy but it's sad to watch him ruin a match.

Ahhh, we could fight about whether Clark should be in the team or not (of course he should - my son uses a bat 'signed' by Clark )

Perhaps they should have brought back Swervin' Mervyn - he did a good job against the footballers the other day - well, I didn't see him bowl or anything but he sure made a presence walking onto the field.

    Default just 'cos.

    'cos it is a race.
    it is a famous race.
    it is a dangerous race.
    I'm not at work.
    I'm not in it.

    Why do people climb mountains?
    Why do people race cars?
    Why do people play cricket?
Why do people buy expensive woodworking tools when they have bug'ral chance of ever recouping the cost?

Cliff, have you ever used the Yacht Tracker on the Squidley Hobart race? It's great.

Love the Squidley Hobart. Yes, there are rich gits, but there are also a lot of more normally financed gits as well. Let's pray for strong winds in the right direction and no flamin' storms.

You must be a funny shape then.
If at first you don't succeed, give something else a go. Life is far too short to waste time trying.

the wacca thread it was posted re the windies awsom machine of the 80`s. which reminds me of the greatest overated cricketer of all time --- mr beefy botham. the fat one played to his max againsed his colonial brothers and the minnow nations to show a statistical score sheet of one of the greatest all rounders of all time. funny how he never once took a fivfer or 50 with the bat againsed the windies in all the times he played againsed them. i heard clive loyd on abc radio some years ago laugh at the sugeston that he is one of the greats saying in the carabean they just think he is a overated joke roll on boxing day and for gumbys sake a big ton from matty

I think that spray deserves a greenie!

I've always though that most of his wickets came from bad balls.
2 foot wide of the off stump that the batsmen could't resist.

I have to say that it worked for him though
