Makita Cordless Vac

Hey guys,
I need a new vac, I live in a 2 bed duplex so I don't need a big monster and I already have a heap of 18v Makita gear.
Has anyone got one of these, are they any good?

I have one and don’t think it is up to the job you want it for, it is handy to suck up a bit of sawdust etc but not much more, I wouldn’t buy it again and rarely use it as I bought the larger Hepa version but that is of no use either for your intended use either.

These are a great vac for the money, I have two Access Denied

I have one for tidying up after I’ve worked in a clients property,it’s good for a localised clean.
I wouldn’t want to clean a house with it tho.
It’s to small.

You're far better off hunting around for a 2nd hand dyson or reputable stick vac.

Just sos you know those Makita vacuum cleaners only have 1/5th the sucking power of a basic shop vac, or 1/6 that of a Festool vac.

I have one as well. Good for small clean up jobs when there is no power. Not the best tool to clean a room (or a house).
Used mine today while doing a very small (5 x 7 cm) plaster patch. Too lazy to cart the Festool mini. Did what I wanted.

There's always horses for courses. When we cleaned up MILs house after she passed I scored a 25 year old Hoover Handivac that has very little suction. It also uses a 7.2V sealed lead acid battery which makes it heavy and awkward to use but its fine for vacuuming up the never-ending little curly bits of plastic generated by using my 3D printer.

Thanks guys, I was attracted to the Makita vac mainly because I have a stash of 18v Makita gear, but yeah some of it is hit & miss - the 18v torch throws a good light but the hinge feels like something from the $2 crap shop.
I shall save my coin and get something better - most of my place is tiles so I really only need a vac for the one bedroom I use.

We had an old Dyson and it died just out of warranty, must admit I was pretty p-d off.
I had a Hitachi 18V vac which came as part of a kit.
As we have a built in vac in the house and 100% wood floors we found the Hitachi worked well enough for the odd small clean up where we didn’t want to get out the hose for the built in.
It was also great for vaccing the ute or car.
The local power tool mob had them on obsolete sale for $10 so I bought 2 more and picked up a second charger for about the same. Reason I bought 2 was for a back up filter.
The missus is happy and that’s the main thing. With the woofers now carked it there’s no dog hair unless my son brings his whippet over.
Same with my Hitachi torch the bulb blew and another torch (which has a spare bulb included) was as cheap as one bulb.
