Hello from Lakes Entrance Victoria.
Just getting into woodworking, looking to do small to medium sized projects.
Built myself a Combination Table Saw / Router table which also has a Bench Sander and Scroll Saw on it, it has a fold down extension that doubles the size of the table (1200 x 1200).
The bench is okay for small work but isn’t very accurate which I didn’t expect it to be.
Im now looking at buying a ‘real’ cabinet table saw and have just started looking at what’s available. Boy what a minefield of brands there are out there, and everyone of them is the ‘best’? according to the seller / manufacturer.
Have had a look at some of the Posts on here about Table Saws, and it seems that there are 3 mid priced saws that get lots of mentions. The CARBATEC, LAGUNA & HARVEY Brands seem to be the choice of lots of woodworkers, I found another Brand I haven’t heard anyone mention and I can’t find any reviews on it, the ‘WOODWORKER 254mm 2HP Cabinet Table Saw. It looks okay and it has Cast Iron Trunnions which seem to a desirable thing on these types of saws.
Does anyone have any information on these ‘WOODWORKER’ saws?
Love this site, lots of good info and advice. I have to admit that after reading the posts about which table saw is the best Value for Money, I’m still confused. The CARBATEC saw looks good and it weights 70kg more than it’s direct competitors (is that better?), the LAGUNA gets a good wrap as well except for the poor dust collection (saw one that had a pile of sawdust in the bottom of the cabinet) and the HARVEY is really out of my price range but it looks really good.
