    Default Adirondack chair in Blackbutt

    Guys,

I would probably find an answer in here if I continued to look but I will ask a new one.

I am about to finish my 1st Adirondack Chair from Blackbutt and Papuan Rosewood and I intend to leave it outside in the garden.

What finish would you recommend to accentuate the beautiful grain and colours as well as providing long term protection?

    Regards

    Hi Vintage111,

I just made tops for 2 outdoor tables using New Guinea Rosewood and finished them with 3 coats of Intergrain UltraDeck Decking Oil "Spotted Gum." So far they're holding up ok in full rain and sun and I'll probably light sand and coat every 12 months. (From a lot of research, there's no clear/transparent outdoor decking oil that offers good UV protection. UV protection comes with the tint.)

    Cheers,
    Michael
